Oklahoma State Continuing Education Requirement Details for Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons

Renewal Date: Every three years within the initial month of licensure. 

UPDATE: Effective 6/1/2025 Increase to CE hours requirement

30 hours required

13 hours should be in the following topics, consisting of no less than:

  • six (6) hours of Contracts and Forms,
  • three (3) hours in Professional Conduct, and
  • one (1) hour in Broker Relationships Act, Fair Housing, Code and Rules, and Hot Topics/Current Issues.

The remaining seventeen (17) hours of required education may consist of elective subject matter as approved by the Commission.

Hours Required: 21 hours comprised of 15 elective hours and 6 core hours in six required subjects:

  • Broker Relationships Act (BRA)
  • Fair Housing (FHR)
  • Professional Conduct (PSC)
  • Contracts and Forms (CON)
  • Code and Rule Updates (CAR)
  • Hot Topic/Current Issues (HOT)

Provisional Sales Associate Post-Licensing: Provisional Sales Associates have a separate and unique post-licensing requirement of 45 hours which must be completed prior to their first license expiration date. Provisional Sales Associates are not required to complete real estate Continuing Education for their first renewal cycle. 


Oklahoma State Continuing Education Requirement Details for Real Estate Branch Brokers, Managers and Proprietors.

Renewal Date: Every three years within the initial month of licensure. Must submit by the 10th of the renewal month or a $10.00 fine will be assessed.

30 hours required

  • 15 hour Broker-In-Charge Course
  • 6 hours of Contracts and Forms education
  • 9 hours of elective courses

Hours Required: 21 hours 

15-hour Broker-In-Charge course 

Remaining six hours must be in two of the following six categories: 

  • Fair Housing (FHR)
  • Professional Conduct (PSC)
  • Contracts and Forms (CON)
  • Code and Rule Updates (CAR)
  • Hot Topic/Current Issues (HOT)
  • Broker Relationships Act (BRA)

Any Broker who holds or has held a license type of Broker Manager (BM), Proprietor Broker (BP), or Branch Broker (BB) during any portion of their current license term are required to successfully complete the Broker in Charge course as approved by the Commission consisting of fifteen (15) clock hours, or its equivalent, as approved by the Commission, each license term. In addition, to complete the continuing education requirement of twenty-one (21) clock hours such broker shall complete at least two (2) of the six (6) required subject matter courses equal to at least six (6) clock hours, or one (1) hour in each of the required subject matter courses equal to at least six (6) clock hours. The CE Shop does not currently offer the 15-hour Broker in Charge course.
