Site Registration & Course Purchases

Payment processing services for American Continuing Education Institute, Ltd. dba Calypso Continuing Education™ (henceforth referred to as Calypso) are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the “Stripe Services Agreement”). By agreeing to these terms or by continuing to use the Calypso website, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement. As a condition of Calypso enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide accurate and complete information about yourself and/or your business, and you authorize the sharing of such information provided for transaction purposes related to the payment processing services provided by Stripe.

Once payment is approved, the system will automatically generate email notifications containing a receipt for the purchase and information regarding accessing your E-learning account.

Refunds and Trade Policy

If not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact Calypso at Info@calypsoeud.com; we have a satisfaction guarantee and will provide you a refund. Once a course is completed the purchase is final and no refunds shall be issued.

Trade Policy

Calypso has a unique trade-in policy for courses that have not yet been opened. Here’s how it works: if you purchase a course and haven’t opened it, we are happy to trade it for another of equal value.

Terms & Conditions

We accept VISA, Mastercard and American Express and Discover. All orders require an email address and telephone number. We require this information in order to better service the needs of all our subscribers or in the event our office needs to contact you regarding your order.

Privacy Policy

We know how important your privacy is to you. We do not store any payment information on our website digitally or hard copies in files. All credit card information is processed directly on Stripe’s servers and never touches our servers. Once your card has been processed, the data used to process it is destroyed. We never sell or share customer information. The information we collect and retain from you allows us to: process and track your order, contact you if necessary, provide notices of regulatory changes in your profession, share valuable discounts with you, and improve our customer service.

If products are required to augment your online educational experience, we may use other companies to provide these products. Certain services, including credit card processing are provided by other companies. In these instances, we will only provide these companies with information necessary for them to perform their services.

On rare occasions, we may be required to disclose specific information upon request of certain government or law enforcement agencies, in response to a court order, or when required to do so by law, or while assisting in fraud protection/investigations. We DO not provide information to agencies or companies for marketing or commercial purposes.

Will Calypso courses run on my tablet?

Calypso Continuing Education courses are designed using the most up to date web servers. Our courses will play on all systems.

Some of the additional educational materials available with our courses are supplied in PDF format. You will need a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat, to view those resources.  Acrobat Reader is free to download and install.

Calypso Continuing Education courses work with most modern web browsers and operation systems.

Our Recommendation: To get the best experience with our website and courses, we strongly recommend using Mozilla Firefox or  Google Chrome. You can download either browser for free using the preceding links.  Apple’s Safari browser also works well. Internet Explorer is supported, though some students have reported display issues when using it. It is recommended that when using Internet Explorer you update to the newest version available.

An internet connection of 1Mbps (one megabit per second) or higher is recommended in order to view the Calypso Continuing Education Appraiser and Environmental courses. Slower connections may work, but the material may load more slowly and you may be disappointed with the performance.

How do Calypso courses work?

Our courses are online asynchronous allowing you to work on at your own pace.  We include video content, poll questions, and other interactive content as well as reading material.

How long do I have to complete my course?

After initial purchase you have six months to complete the course. In the event you require additional time, contact us by e-mail or telephone and additional time will be granted at no additional cost.

Exams

Calypso Continuing Education courses provide questions designed to test the student’s mastery of the learning objectives and reinforce the student/learners retention. To ensure students understand the important information supplied during the courses, quizzes are administered at the end of each chapter and an exam at the end of the course.* All of the quizzes and exam are designed to meet the following criteria:

  • The conditional quizzes at the end of most chapters prevent the student from moving forward to the next chapter until they have demonstrated sufficient mastery of the subject;
  • The quizzes and exam contain a sufficient number of questions with a revolving pool of questions that are designed to test the student’s mastery of the subject matter and reinforce the learning process;
  • All questions both individually and collectively, test at a difficulty level appropriate to measure student achievement of the stated course learning objectives;
  • Successful completion of the examination(s) requires the student to answer a minimum of 70% of the questions correctly;
  • Examination questions are written in a clear and unambiguous manner; and,
  • The examinations are not proctored, but appraisers are required to complete an affidavit attesting they are the individuals accessing the course and completing all quizzes and exams.

* In those states where an exam is not required for accreditation, the exams have been disabled.

Certificates

Upon the completion of each course the system will generate a printable/savable certificate in PDF (Adobe) format.

To generate multiple certificates for additional states please enter the license number and state name into the proper fields in your student account. Provided the course is complete, certificates will generate automatically using the added information when you re-open your course.

You can print and/or save your certificate as many times as you wish.

 

 

Multiple Certificates

Additional state certificates are available for each state that you are licensed in at no additional cost.

To print multiple certificates, go to your account settings and enter your additional state(s) information. Our system will generate your certificate(s)automatically.

Report credit completion

Calypso reports course completion weekly to states that require it. Please always retain a copy of your certificate of completion for your records.

If you are not already using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome we suggest changing to one of these browsers. Either can be downloaded free of charge using the preceding links.
