In this Michigan Fair Housing and Legal Updates course, we discurs an important topic that every real estate professional needs to be aware of: sexual harassment laws in housing.
Sexual harassment may or may not be something you’ve directly encountered, but it’s important to understand how these laws apply in real estate. We will be talking about your responsibility to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all tenants, buyers, sellers, and colleagues.
The Fair Housing Act and other federal laws prohibit sexual harassment. These laws also prohibit harassment because of race, color, religion, national origin, familial status, or disability.
In this course, look at how sexual harassment manifests in a housing setting and the laws that provide protection against it. We’ll gain an understanding of how HUD defines sexual harassment, the various forms it can take, and the actions you can take if you or someone you know encounters it. This information is important not only for your client’s safety but also for protecting your own business and professional reputation.
This course will cover the major shift in real estate: the buyer broker compensation upheaval. We will discuss the changes in how buyer-broker compensation works, and provide understanding that every real estate professional needs. We will review how these changes could reshape the real estate industry with a focus on how to adapt and even thrive in this evolving landscape.
